Okay, so I’m not among the first million to view this. I’ll still pass it on in case you haven’t yet seen it.
I love the slide whistle instrumental break. There aren’t enough of those these days.

I like this, but I can’t figure out if this is trying to make fun of him or not. What do you think?

I don’t think there was anything disrespectful about it. And in fact, they had something on the news here about it and, given his iconic status here, they never would have given it a mention had they seen anything negative.

I kept waiting for the “make fun of” part, but I don’t think its there. Its all real Mr. Rogers sentiments, brought into the next century. I like it. In the Garden of My Mind.
Do you two know a story my mom used to quote that one time when Eleanor was angry at a very young Ed Cyphers, he is reported to have told her that “Mr. Rogers likes me just the way I am!”
(My mom never said what happened next.)

I have never heard that story, nor does it sound to me like the kind of thing I would have said. I would venture to say it may be apocryphal.

I know. But my mom loved to tell it and its kind of funny.

I probably got my mouth smacked for that.

Kudos to Symphony of Science’s John D. Boswell for an incredible remix! I loved Mr. Rogers even though he got me in trouble, too. (I cut my dad’s cigarettes in half and threw them in the toilet after Mr. Rogers said they were bad for you.)

That Fred Rogers…what a troublemaker! Thanks for sharing, Stacey–hilarious!
