Reminds me of Harry Nilson, putting together all the right pieces, and skillfully exectuint the right sounds, but producing something the country audience did not buy. (Joy to the World, for example.)It seems they sense that the outsider doesn’t really mean it.

yeah. borrowing the tools but building something from a different blueprint. It can be jarring to hear.
